Elongatus Jewel Spot Malawi

This elongatus species hails from the intermediate zone of Ruarwe reef. Here they can be found defending their territory from other fish. These fish tend to be very territorial and the fights can be rather intense. Males can be domineering over other species that look similar to them.

The Elongatus is an attractive Mbuna with both sexes being rather similar to each other in appearance, both have blue and black colouring but the male will have much more intense colours than the female.
