Mystus Catfish / Pyjama Catfish

The Mystus Catfish, commonly referred to as the Pyjama Catfish, is a peaceful and beautifully striped freshwater species known for its unique appearance and active behaviour. Its black and white "pyjama-like" stripes make it a standout addition to any community aquarium.

Native to South and Southeast Asia — particularly found in slow-moving rivers and streams in India, Bangladesh, and Myanmar.

Mystus Catfish are omnivorous they enjoy a varied diet of sinking pellets, frozen bloodworms, brine shrimp, and occasional vegetables.

Mystus catfish are hardy, active bottom-dwellers. They prefer hiding spots but are social.

Believed to have been described scientifically in the 19th century as part of the Bagridae family.

Grows up to 10–15 cm roughly in captivity.

Great for beginner and intermediate aquarists looking to add variety to their tank.
