The Asian Sun Catfish (Horabagrus brachysoma) is a stunning freshwater species native to rivers of India, particularly Kerala and the Western Ghats. Known for its golden-yellow body with bold black markings, this nocturnal predator adds a dramatic flair to any tank.
In the wild, it feeds on smaller fish, crustaceans, and insects. In captivity, its diet should include high-quality sinking carnivore pellets, earthworms, frozen shrimp, and pieces of fish or mussel.
They require a tank, with hiding spots like driftwood or caves and excellent filtration. The Asian Sun Catfish is hardy but can grow large and may eat anything small enough to fit in its mouth.
