Black Widow Frontosa

Although it may appear to be a hybrid variant of Frontosa, and easier to just call it that, this is not a hybrid. This Black Widow is line bred and they've actually been around for many years in Germany by taking select Burundi bred with broken or partial bars into smudges and blotches and there you have it, a new fish variant.

The basic theme is that these fish lack stripes and instead feature amorphous patches of black that often form a hourglass like shape. If you want a unique centerpiece for your tank of assorted African cichlids this one is hard to beat.
