Oxydoras Niger Ripsaw Catfish

 The Oxydoras Niger, widely known as the Ripsaw Catfish, is an impressive armored species from South America. Named after the serrated “ripsaw” edges along its lateral line, this peaceful giant is a favourite among monster fish enthusiasts.

Oxydoras Niger are native to the Amazon and Orinoco River basins in South America.

Oxydoras Niger Ripsaw Catfish are omnivorous, they feed on sinking pellets, meaty frozen foods (like bloodworms and shrimp), and plant matter. Needs a varied diet to support healthy 

Described scientifically in the early 1800s as part of the Doradidae family.

Can grow up to 90–100 cm in the wild. In captivity, typically reaches 60–70 cm with proper care.
