Figure 8 Puffer

The Figure 8 Puffer (Tetraodon biocellatus) is a stunning, semi-aggressive pufferfish known for the bright yellow-green markings on its dark body—often forming a figure-eight pattern. Native to brackish water regions of Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Malaysia, and Borneo, this species grows to around 6–8 cm.

Carnivorous by nature, Figure 8 Puffers thrive on a varied diet of frozen or live foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, snails, and crustaceans. Their beaks require hard foods like snails or shelled shrimp to stay trimmed.

Best kept in species-only tanks or with carefully selected tank mates. Provide ample hiding places, moderate flow, and excellent filtration.
