Hatchetfish

Hatchetfish are peaceful, top-dwelling freshwater fish known for their distinctive hatchet-shaped bodies. Native to the Amazon Basin in South America, they are excellent for calm, well-covered community tanks. Their ability to "jump" when startled means a tightly fitted lid is essential.  

*Diet: Omnivorous (floating flakes, small insects, frozen daphnia)  

*Behavior: Peaceful, shoaling fish that thrive in groups
