Place the unit in the aquarium with the suction-cups. Make sure that the lower part of the float stays within the main cylinder. Attach the flexible hose to the unit and connect the other end to the intake of the filteration system. The amount of water flow from either the surface or bottom of the cylinder is adjusted by the flow control valve.
